Moda Salon and Barbershop · July 1 to August 29, 2026
We took every appointment booked through the website button, then looked for each person's payment in the Square register. Here is what we found.
Yes, it's working, and it's speeding up. In July, one person tried the button. In the first four weeks of August, ten services were booked through it. Yesterday alone, five more came in. That is the fastest month yet, and it's getting faster.
And the money is real. We matched the bookings to actual payments in Square. At least 5 of those clients showed up and paid, about $312 at the register. One match is beyond doubt: the name on the Square payment, Audrey Siegel, is the same name on the online booking.

How we matched: Moda's register adds 3% for cards. So a $40 cut shows up as exactly $41.20, and an $85 cut as $87.55. When the amount, the time, and the barber's register all line up, that's a match. It's not a perfect science, but it's close.

Phorest costs $2,200 for the first year. That's about $183 a month. (It goes to $2,700 a year in March 2027, about $225 a month.)
In August, the button brought in about $312 that we can prove at the register. That's more than the month's cost, and it doesn't count yesterday's $240 in fresh bookings or anyone we couldn't trace. So the answer is yes: in its first real month, the button made more than it cost.
One thing to know about Phorest's own reports: Phorest only counts a booking as "completed" if the client is checked in or paid inside Phorest. Since Moda takes payment in Square, Phorest's report says $0 and calls everyone a no-show. That's why we match against Square instead. The Square numbers are the true ones.
We'll run this same check every month: pull the online bookings from Phorest, match them against Square, and update this page. Next run will also settle yesterday's five bookings. Same link, fresh numbers.
Sources: Phorest "Online Bookings" report, July 1 to Aug 29, 2026, run Aug 29; Square payments for the same period via the Square connection, matched by amount (price plus the 3% card fee), time, and register. "Certain" means the name on the Square customer record matches the booking. Prepared by Viyu Partners.
